A second date has been added to a special Coronation Street show which saw tickets sell out in minutes due to sheer demand.

In September, An Audience With Coronation Street will take place at the Lyric Theatre at the Lowry which will serve as a chance for fans to dive deep with anecdotes and stories from some of the soap’s most iconic actors.

But when the first show was announced two months ago, which has been billed as an "unforgettable night on the cobbles", pre-sale tickets sold out within minutes. Whilst organisers added more tickets to the show, demand saw many unable to secure seats.

Hosted by This Morning’s soap expert Sharon Marshall, An Audience with Coronation Street will include an interview session with famous faces from the show, which will tour a number of locations across the country in September. Tickets are available via Ticketmaster.

Across the tour, the special fan event will feature a rotating cast of Corrie legends, including the likes of Andrew Whyment (Kirk Sutherland), Jimmi Harkishin (Dev Alahan) and Sue Cleaver (Eileen Grimshaw).

It has today been announced that a second Greater Manchester show has now been added to the tour - with tickets going on sale this Friday (May 30) at 10am via Ticketmaster.

The matinee show, which will start at 2.30pm on September 20, will feature Jack P Shepherd (David Platt), Samia Longchambon (Maria Connor), Rob Mallard (Daniel Osbourne) and Julia Goulding (Shona Platt) with another legend still to be announced.

The line-up will vary from the original Manchester show, taking place on the same day at 7.30pm. As well as Jack, the evening show will feature Jane Danson (Leanne Battersby), Patti Clare (Mary Taylor) and Simon Gregson (Steve McDonald)

In addition to the extra Manchester show, a new show at the Sunderland Empire has been announced for September 21. This will feature Jack and Julia, as well as Sam Aston (Chesney Brown), Jodie Prenger (Glenda Shuttleworth) and a special legend star.

Tickets for the shows start from £29.50 each. Tickets for the matinee Manchester show and the Sunderland Empire show will both go on sale at 10am on Friday (May 30) via Ticketmaster, Cuffe and Taylor, and Live Nation.
